The Business:

A wellness studio offering personal training, yoga, massage, and spiritual services — a space that connects mind, body, and spirit.

The Ask:

  1. Branding
The client came open for creative direction, but did let me know that the “x” in the name of the business was important and was inspired by the “x” used in Irish ruins. The business places an emphasis on connection (Conxion is pronounced “connection) and wanted the brand to exude that personality as well.

The Process:

  1. Design Clarity Reading
The first step in my branding process is to receive divine guidance by connecting to Spirit.
In the Design Clarity Reading for Conxion, we received the following messages:

    • Adjectives: “clean, clean, clean” + “grandfather tree”

    • Colors: barely-blue color that you see when you glance up at the sun on a sunny day

    • Shape: circle inspired by ouroboros

    • Elements: fire and air

  2. Brand Colors
Colors pulled were inspired by nature: oranges found in fireside chats, the barely-blue seen when you glance up at the sun on a sunny day, and greens found on the leaves of mature and stately trees.

  3. Logo Design
An abstract approach to the ouroboros (representing death and re-birth — a symbol close to the client’s approach to life).

  4. Typography
Fonts were selected that alluded to the Irish ruins (Gravesend Sans Medium) and balanced with friendly and approachable Semplicita Pro Regular.

  5. Brand Visuals
Stock imagery that exuded a healthy, mindful lifestyle — as well as the community-centric approach the studio takes.
